The 2025 edition will be the 7th year to showcase exhibitions by our curated selection of local, accomplished artists.

Since 2019, Open Studios Kommetjie has evolved into a highly anticipated event, offering an intimate look inside the studios and homes of local artists. 2025 Artists will be announced in May 2025.

Michelle van Reenen is a painter who, like myself, has a love for colour. While our mediums differ, we’ve come together to curate an exhibition that showcases a selection of works from our studio. My work is a selection of abstract photographs exploring colour, light, and shadow—each composition carefully constructed using Perspex panels and hand-built sets. Michelle’s paintings, inspired by memory and place, transform landscapes into textured, expressive ‘memoryscapes.’ Together, our works speak in different visual languages but share a connection through colour. We’d love for you to join us for the opening at Lakeside Provisions (64 Main Road, Kalk Bay) on March 20th from 6 PM.
