Shaune Rogatschnig is deeply inspired by vibrant fynbos, coastal shores, and the natural spaces she has encountered during her travels across Southern Africa. Her recent work explores the abstraction of landscapes through an intuitive, experimental layering of mixed media, collage, and oils to create compositions in which detail meets soft ambiguity, echoing the rhythms and complexity of the natural world.

Guided by Georgia O’Keeffe’s insight that “nothing is less real than realism… it is only by selection, elimination, emphasis that we get at the real meaning of things”, Shaune distills forms to their essence, seeking truths that reveal the connections between place and lingering emotion.
