Jenny Chadwick originally lived in Johannesburg, worked in corporate communications, and played music in various bands. After moving to Cape Town in 2006, an opportunity arose to teach a beginners pottery class at a studio in Noordhoek. Jenny later spent a year in the Netherlands, where they joined a pottery studio in Amsterdam and participated in various ceramic workshops.

Upon returning to Cape Town, they established Kommetjie Ceramics, from which they still teach today. Their studio is a creative space where pit-fired polished vessels, functional ware, and sculptures are produced for exhibitions, galleries, and the potters’markets hosted by Ceramics Western Cape.

Jenny’s long-time involvement with this organisation (previously Ceramics Southern Africa WC Region) has been both supportive and inspiring. Having served a three-year term as chair from 2022 to 2025, they remain on the committee as an experienced member and continue to manage the organisation’s social media platforms.
